“There are only 150 cases of this 2012 Chardonnay, which is made by Luc Morlet for the CEO of the Peter Michael Winery. Made from the Montrachet clone cuttings, bottled without fining or filtration, and fermented with indigenous yeasts, this wine possesses terrific minerality as the cool climate of Coombsville and high elevation vineyards allow for a long ripening period. White peach and pineapple notes intermixed with notions of wet gravel, white currants and quince are found in this full-bodied beauty. Enjoy it over the next 5-6 years.” ~ Robert Parker, Wine Advocate 93 pts.
Scott and Helen Rodde have lived in Napa since 1980. They have worked with the Michael family to help build Peter Michael Winery and Peter Michael Foundation. Scott has been the President of Peter Michael Winery since the mid 1980s. The Rodde Napa property is in the Coombsville appellation and includes a pre prohibition vineyard. Beginning in 2005 a small portion of the old vineyard was brought back to life with 2700 vines planted using 3 foot by 3 foot spacing. 100% field selection Montrachet clones are planted on 101-14 rootstock to bring the best available Burgundy vineyard lineage to Napa. The vineyard is at the base of Mt. George (at the 350 foot elevation) and benefits from the cooling air flow off the mountain each night. Vineyard management is carried out to the highest standards. Winemaker Luc Morlet believes he has an exciting profile of flavors and fragrances that our team hope will make your wine drinking experience a pleasure.
