2005 Blain-Gagnard

This is the most elegant and refined Blain-Gagnard wine in the range and while the nose is presently rather reserved, it offers notes of clove, anise, white flower and green apple that complement to perfection the rich, full and focused flavors blessed with terrific dry extract levels and a sappy, explosive and gorgeously long finish. This is also moderately austere but the precision and overall sense of harmony are beautiful. I very much like this and the depth of material is such that it's possible this could surprise to the upside in time. Burghound 93 pts.
