The new label from one of our favorite wineries in Napa is the Palladian (previous vintage was labeled Olivia Brion). The only winery within Napa Valley’s smallest and most obscure sub-appellation. This elegant Cabernet Sauvignon was produced on the verdant St. Helena estate of Sandra and David Jones. Together with winemaker David Mahaffey, they have dedicated themselves to making high quality Bordeaux style wine. The Palladian temple (depicted on the front label) which overlooks the vineyard, came originally from England. It serves as a reminder of the importance of balance, harmony, and structure in winemaking as well as in life.
Exceptional: Superb aroma of tea leaf, dry herbs, and cherries. The wine's low alcohol, 13.5%, is an anomaly today and the balance is impeccable. A gem.Dan Berger
