"This is a solid set of wines from brothers Franco and Roberto Massolino. The 2011s have come together quite nicely since I last tasted them from tank just before bottling. Only the Riserva Vigna Rionda remains in barrel at this point. Massolino is among the growers who have moved towards green harvesting later than in the past, while yields are a bit less exaggeratedly low than they have been in the recent past. Overall, the Massolino Barolos present a refined, contemporary expression of traditionalism. The Barolos are all aged in cask. In top vintages, the Massolino Barolos are perfumed, silky and highly expressive."
