2019 Domaine Lafage Cotes du Roussillon Miraflors Rose France
Named after an old estate located in the heart of Domaine Lafage, Mas Miraflors, the Miraflors Rosé is from old vines of Grenache Gris and Noir (50%), some nearing 80 years old, planted near the Mediterranean. Added to this is Mourvèdre (50%) that Jean-Marc planted here about 25 years ago. This a direct press rosé with the color coming from the skins of the pink Grenache Gris berries and the much darker Mourvèdre and Grenache Noir. It is aged in tank for 3 months before bottling.
It’s always nice to find a delicious, light, juicy rosé outside of Provence.ogether with a portion of younger Mourvèdre, this is made from early-picked grapes to ensure a fresher style and pressed without crushing for an incredibly pale hue. On the palate there’s delicate white peach, orange peel and strawberry flavours underpinned by crisp minerality. GH
