Winemakers Notes
Nestled in the Mayacamas Mountains between St. Helena and Santa Rosa, the picturesque 235 acre estate of Pride Mountain Vineyards produces unique wines in contrast to those made in the neighboring valleys. The vineyards are set above the fog line, which enables the grapes to be exposed to California's hot sun from dawn to dusk. As a result, the flavors of these wines tend to be rich with ripe black fruits, "balance, nuance, and complexity." They are made to be approachable at a young age with the capability to age beneficially for 10-15 years.

Outer quote mark Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Vintner's Select features expressive notes of crushed black raspberries, kirsch, black currants and mulberries with nuances of bay leaves, licorice, underbrush and charcuterie. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has wonderfully youthful, energetic black and red berry flavors, supported by a grainy texture and lovely freshness, finishing long on an uplifting herbal note. Outer quote mark The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is solid step up over the Merlot and has more depth and richness as well as character. Blackcurrants, plums, earthy tobacco-laced herbs, dried flowers, and hints of lead pencil all flow to a full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon that has no hard edges, a light, graceful texture, beautiful fruit, and a great finish. It’s already drinking beautifully yet will keep for 15 years or more
