2016 Anna Maria Abbona Bricco San Pietro Barolo DOCG Italy

$52.99 USD

Tasting notes from the producer:
Tobacco, slightly fleshy and a hint of iodine, also a little nutty-woody scent of partly dried red and a little black berries with tarry notes. Ripe red and also some black fruit, nutty and woody aromas reminiscent of chestnuts, some roasting, a hint of cocoa, smoke and coffee, again also a little iodine and raw flesh, tarry notes, persistent, some bite, youthful, present tannin, peppery tones, very slightly ethereal, very good, firm, tart, juicy and spicy finish.

The Anna Maria Abbona 2016 Barolo Bricco San Pietro (with fruit from Monforte d'Alba) offers a dark and robust fruit profile with black fruits, crushed flowers, iron ore, cola and grilled rosemary. The bouquet shows depth and power, with background tones of dark spice and burnt ember. The personality here is spicy and savory, and the wine ends with medium texture and drying tannins.
