The 2018 Domaine Christophe Pichon Condrieu offers fresh, vibrant aromas of honeysuckle and ripe yellow plum. On the palate, the wine is well balanced yet full-bodied. Head-turning and complex, it offers layers of wildflower, minerality, ripe melon, tropical fruit, and white pit fruits that present themselves across an incredibly long, richly-textured, and concentrated palate that lingers on forever.
While this wine is absolutely stunning today in its youth, it will gain weight and complexity with age. Incredibly versatile, this wine makes for a delightful cocktail sipper but will also shine when paired with fresh seafood such as sushi and grilled tuna or salmon. Not complex but nicely done. 30-year-old vines on high granite slopes, hand harvested, fermented with natural yeasts in recent and new barrels, including malolactic, followed by a year's ageing.
