The great-value 2019 Coda blends mostly Merlot (48%) with smaller parts Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon, all sourced from the Red Mountain AVA. Ripe cassis and scorched earth tones fill the nose, alongside shades of tar and leather. The palate is very fresh and refined, with good depth and finesse. This quite simply may be one of the best red blends of the vintage, considering the price. Enjoy the already beautifully evolved 2019 over the next eight years.
