A bright medium deep purple. Like the Meursault, but unlike the village Pommard, the 2022 Refène shows an explosion of succulent red berry fruit on the nose. Here there is a little more depth on the palate and a savoury touch with a bit of blood orange from iron oxide in the soil. The structure is built equally on tannins and acidity. Stylish, fine, and capable of good ageing.

Here too there is a liqueur-like quality to the aromas of black raspberry, violet and more discreet spice whiffs. The sleek, delicious and energetic medium-bodied flavors aren't quite as dense but they too possess a lovely texture that carries over to the youthfully austere, firm, balanced and built-to-age finale. This is already lovely but offers fine development potential as well.
