The 2019 Realm Beckstoffer To Kalon Cabernet Sauvignon is a total beauty. This outstanding wine delivers on all levels as it begins with striking aromatics of ripe blackberries and blackcurrants, which are laced with spices, violets, graphite shavings, tobacco and crushed gravel all taking shape. The palate is just as impressive, offering a gorgeous full-body that is impeccably structured with beautifully polished tannins and notable tension. Everything works together as it shows incredible purity and freshness all the way through the long expressive finish. While this is already impressive on release, however it will become even more dazzling as it reaches maturity in about a decade. This is an absolute beauty and clearly one of the most captivating wines from this amazing vintage. (JD)

Composed of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard has a deep garnet-purple color, requiring a little coaxing before it spills out of the glass with fantastically showy blackberry preserves, boysenberries and cassis notes, plus hints of black raspberries, clove oil and potpourri, with a touch of tobacco leaf. The decadent, full-bodied palate sports a firm backbone of ripe, grainy tannins with beautiful freshness. All that generous black fruit melds seamlessly into a very long, mineral-laced finish. (LPB)
