2020 Ciu Ciu Gotico Rosso Piceno Superiore, Marche, Italy

$27.99 USD

Winemaker Notes
Ciu Ciu, "Gotico" Rosso Piceno Superiore DOP is an elegant wine made from the blend of the two most famous red grape varieties in Italy - Montepulciano and Sangiovese, grown on the Ascoli Piceno hill. The soft fruit shades of Montepulciano go well with the more expressive earthen and woody notes of Sangiovese. Quality from the vineyard to the basement is the main goal of the winery Ciu Ciu, so the grapes are harvested by hand in the second half of October, carefully sorted and subjected to cold maceration. Vinification is done by classical method for red wines. The wine is aged for 1 year in oak barrels and 6 months in bottles. Wine is recommended to use 3 years after release.

Tasting Notes

The wine exhibits a ruby red color with burgundy hues and offers a velvety, rich taste, achieving a delicate balance between acidity and tannins. Its soft, fruity shades blend seamlessly with nuances of moist earth and wood. The aroma is elegant and intriguing, featuring fruity, floral, and mineral notes with hints of spices and vanilla. This wine pairs harmoniously with hearty meat dishes such as beef, veal, poultry, pasta with meatballs in tomato sauce, and sausages.
