Description
Trebbiano d'Abruzzo by Emidio Pepe comes from medium-textured clayey soils, from about 3Ha of vineyards in the vicinity of Torano Nuovo (TE), where the yield does not exceed 80-90 q / Ha. The vine is grown by awning and in a row: in the warm seasons the leaves of the tent "shade" the grapes preventing the fruit from burning, while in the rainy and humid seasons the row allows the health of the air and the oxygenation of the soil. In the vineyard every chemical is banned and only mine sulfur and copper water are used, the use of green manure is applied only in some vintages. The harvested grapes are crushed with their feet in wooden vats, then fermented in 22-30 Hl cement vats without adding selected yeasts. Bottling is done by hand with siphon and cane cinnamon, excluding clarification and filtration.
