2014 Chateau Latour 'Les Forts de Latour', Pauillac, France

$299.99 USD $350.00 USD

Winemaker Notes
Les Forts de Latour receives meticulous care as the Grand Vin, both in the vineyard and in the winery. The only notable difference, apart from the origin of the grapes, is the proportion of new barrels (50%) used in the maturing stage. The proportions of the grape varieties in the wine vary from one year to the next but there is always a higher proportion of Merlot (25-30%) compared to the Grand Vin.

2014 Forts de Latour has turned out beautifully. Pliant, supple and open-knit, the wine is super-expressive, even at this early stage. There is lovely depth to the dark red cherry, plum and leather nuances, all in the vivid, articulate style that is found in the best 2014s. Best of all, the 2014 Forts de Latour will drink well with minimal cellaring ~ Antonio Galloni - Vinous Media (93)
