2016 Puramun Reserva Malbec, Uco Valley, Argentina
I finally tasted the 2015 Malbec Reserva from Pepe Galante's personal project that mixes Malbec grapes from Eugenio Bustos, Vista Flores, Chacayes and Gualtallary in the Valle de Uco. It fermented in small concrete vats in a very old winery in La Consulta, and the wine matured in barriques for 12 months. It's ripe and juicy, with notes of plums, violets, some spices and aromatic herbs, and the oak is nicely integrated. The idea is to create a Malbec that is representative of the Valle de Uco, with freshness and balance. It's very tasty and pleasant, easy to drink. 50,000 bottles produced.
