2018 Andrew Will Winery Champoux Vineyard Red Horse Heaven Hills Washington USA

$79.99 USD

Winemaker Notes
Andrew Will Winery was founded in 1989 by winemaker Chris Camarda and is now run by his son Will Camarda. The winery was launched out of a love for wine and named after the Camardas’ son Will and nephew Andrew.

This 100% Merlot wine comes from a single vineyard in Horse Heaven Hills, and was aged for 22 months in French oak. Expect a rich and full bodied red wine, with opulent notes of plum, melted chocolate and blackberries. The tannins are high, yet velvety and it has a very long finish. A pleasure to drink now.

The vineyards are sustainable and the wine was made with indigenous yeasts, with no filtering, no fining, and minimal SO2.

Rated 91 Points Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
Impeccably balanced, the 2018 Merlot Champoux Vineyard offers fresh and ripe fruit flavors of plum, black cherry and dusty purple flowers with hints of brown baking spices. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, the wine displays elevated alcohol with expertly managed tannins before showing a dusty mineral tension across the mid-palate. The Merlot concludes with a food-friendly and lingering finish. Just under 3,000 bottles were made for the world after the wine rested for 22 months in 25% new French oak. Bravo!
