2021 Bodegas Alto Moncayo Garnacha Campo de Borja Spain

$49.99 USD

Winemaker Notes
'Alto Moncayo' is the flagship of the winery. It is also another single-grape variety of Garnacha, from vines between 40 and 70 years old, aged in new barrels for 20 months.

Opaque red-black in color with a scarlet rim. Initially closed on the nose, the wine opens to an amalgam of minerals and unctuous super-ripe berries. Deep, rich and ripe on the palate, where black fruits (cherries, plums) give way to hints of licorice, molasses and a hint of cinnamon. Solid tannins and focused acidity with a long finish.

Goes well with game, beef, pasta, rice and cheeses.
