2021 Domaine Ballot-Millot Meursault Cote de Beaune, France

$104.99 USD

Winery notes
"The grapes for this wine come from several parcels totaling 1.9 ha., which is a good size in Meursault's patchwork of many different producers. The vines on the Ballots Millots village plots were planted in the 80s, the advanced age gives fuller and more complex wines. Their Meursault has a beautiful and endearing bouquet of minerals and white flowers and a touch of tropical fruit. The taste is quite full, not bold, but with great precision and minerality. Beautiful nose on toasted almonds with a floral (verbena) and mineral (flint) profile. Mouth lead by butter, honey, and citrus and nice long finish of well balanced creamy texture and acidity."

Press

"A mild touch of reduction blurs the nuances of the very fresh white-fleshed orchard fruit nut and floral scents. There is better size weight and richness to the solidly density and powerful middleweight flavors that are shaped by citrus-tinged acidity on the delicious complex and sneaky long finale. This is also very good for its level and unusually powerful for a Meursault villages."

"From all the usual plots with nothing sold to negociants this year. This is not quite clear after the racking with a slight leesy barrel toast."
