2021 Marchesi Antinori Pian delle Vigne Rosso di Montalcino Tuscany, Italy

$37.99 USD

Winery Notes

"Pian delle Vigne Rosso di Montalcino is a vibrant ruby red color. On the nose, aromas of red fruit, especially cherries and strawberries are followed by lavender and tobacco. On the palate, the wine is fresh, fruity and balanced with a long, savory finish."

"The Antinori family of Florence, one of the world's oldest and most distinguished wine producers, has lived in Tuscany since the 14th century and celebrated its 635th anniversary as wine makers in 2020.

The Pian delle Vigne estate has been owned by the Antinori family since 1995. The Rosso is stored and aged in traditional large barrels for 12 months.  It is medium bodied, elegant, fresh, silky and round with nice complexity, juicy acidity and lively tannins. Cherry, raspberry, plum, red currant, sweet spices, lavender, and hints of cocoa and licorice roll across the vigorous and vibrant palate into a lengthy, vibrant and savory finish. Great with pasta in meat sauce or a sausage covered pizza."
