"Domaine Gros Frère & Sœur is a Burgundy producer that’s still managing to fly just under the radar, yet consistently produces some of the region’s best examples of Pinot Noir, Domaine Gros Frère & Sœur. The Domaine has some enviable plots, owning 20 hectares of vines across eight appellations – most notably within the Grand Cru vineyards of Chambolle-Musigny, Flagey-Echézeaux and Vosne Romanée. Bernard Gros stepped down a few years ago handing over the reins to his son Vincent, who now oversees all aspects of the winemaking. The top wines now receive around 50% new oak from the very finest quality barriques, radically reducing the oak influence his father gave to his wines, a change which is allowing the bright fruit shine through."

“The bright and agreeably fresh nose displays even more spice elements that include anise, clove and hoisin on the red and dark currant aromas. The medium weight flavors are also rich, generous and velvet textured that contrasts somewhat with the youthfully austere, firm and moderately structured finale… could be enjoyed young if desired.”
